Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Resuma ("Service"), operated by Resuma ("Operator", "we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account or using the Service in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Resuma is an AI-powered resume optimization tool that offers Precision Alignment and AI Enhancement. Precision Alignment helps users match resumes to specific job descriptions, while AI Enhancement improves resume language, action verbs, and impact framing. The Service uses Anthropic's Claude AI to analyze user inputs and generate optimized resume content.

The Service is provided on a freemium basis. Free accounts receive a limited number of AI-generated resumes ("credits"). Additional credits are available through paid subscription plans.

Important limitation: Resumes generated by Resuma are AI-produced suggestions. We make no guarantee that any generated resume will result in job interviews, employment offers, or any particular outcome. The Operator is not liable for the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated content for any specific purpose.

To use the Service, you must create an account using either a Google account or an email address and password.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 in the EU/EEA, to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this age requirement.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that are inactive for more than 24 months.

Free plan New accounts receive 3 free credits. Each successful AI resume generation consumes 1 credit. Credits do not expire but are non-transferable and have no monetary value.

Paid subscriptions Subscribers receive a set number of credits per billing cycle as described on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed according to the cadence selected at checkout through Razorpay.

Billing By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize Razorpay to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Prices are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and may be subject to applicable taxes.

Cancellation You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain paid access and credits until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.

Refunds We offer a 7-day refund for first-time paid subscribers if you are unsatisfied with the Service. To request a refund, contact us within 7 days of your first payment. Subsequent billing cycles are non-refundable.

Failed payments may result in suspension of paid access until the outstanding amount is settled.

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Upload content that you do not have the right to use
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service
• Use the Service to generate content that is false, misleading, or fraudulent
• Circumvent usage limits, credits, or access controls through technical means
• Attempt to access other users' data or administrative interfaces
• Use the Service in a way that disrupts, overloads, or damages our systems
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written permission
• Use the Service to build a competing product that uses our output as training data

We reserve the right to terminate accounts and pursue legal remedies for violations of these rules.

Your content You retain full ownership of the resume content, job descriptions, and any other material you upload or input into the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process Your Content solely to provide the Service to you.

AI-generated output The optimized resume content generated by the Service through Precision Alignment or AI Enhancement is based on Your Content and is provided to you for your personal use. You may use, edit, export, and distribute your generated resumes freely.

No training use We do not use Your Content to train AI models. Your content is sent to Anthropic's API for processing and is subject to Anthropic's data usage policies.

Our intellectual property The Resuma name, logo, website design, and underlying software are owned by the Operator and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without written permission.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Guarantees that AI-generated resumes will be accurate, complete, or error-free
• Guarantees of employment outcomes or ATS scores achieved in practice
• Uninterrupted or error-free availability of the Service

AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, or outdated information. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all generated content before submitting it to employers.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of employment opportunities, income, or business arising from use of the Service
• Any errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content
• Unauthorized access to your account or data breach not caused by our gross negligence
• Any damages arising from third-party services including Razorpay, Google, or Anthropic

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim, or INR 500, whichever is greater.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Operator and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your use of or inability to use the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any content you submit to the Service that infringes a third party's rights

By you You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion removes your personal data within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.

By us We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any unused credits or subscription time are forfeited without refund except as required by law.

Sections covering ownership, disclaimer, liability, and indemnification survive termination.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.

For users in the EU/EEA: Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under applicable consumer protection laws in your country of residence.

Entire agreement: These Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and the Operator regarding the Service.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right.

Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Language: These Terms are written in English. In the event of any inconsistency between a translated version and the English version, the English version shall prevail.
